Mental Health Support for High-Stress Careers, Individuals & Families
Thin Line Therapy 206 specializes in working with people whose careers, responsibilities, and life experiences can take a toll over time.
We frequently work with law enforcement, firefighters, EMS, dispatchers, corrections professionals, healthcare professionals, veterans, military members, and others working in high-stress careers.
Our clinicians also provide therapy for adults, couples, children, teens, parents, and families from the broader community when openings are available.
You don't have to be in crisis—or have a diagnosis—to benefit from support. Sometimes therapy is about addressing what happened. Sometimes it's about recognizing what years of stress have changed. And sometimes it's about getting back to feeling like yourself again.
Individual Therapy
Therapy doesn't have to mean sitting down and retelling your entire life story.
Our clinicians provide practical, individualized support for adults experiencing stress, anxiety, depression, sleep problems, burnout, relationship difficulties, grief, trauma, major life changes, and the cumulative impact of demanding careers.
For First Responders, healthcare professionals, veterans, and others in high-stress professions, therapy is culturally informed by the realities of shift work, critical incidents, hypervigilance, fatigue, responsibility, and the pressure to keep functioning when something isn't right.
Individual therapy may help with:
-
Anxiety, depression, and chronic stress
-
Sleep deprivation and fatigue
-
Burnout symptoms and emotional exhaustion
-
Trauma and cumulative trauma
-
Hypervigilance and difficulty shutting off
-
Grief and loss
-
Life and career transitions
-
Relationship and family stress
-
Work-life balance and recovery
Couples & Family Therapy
High-stress careers don't stay at work. Shift schedules, exhaustion, emotional withdrawal, missed family time, and years of carrying responsibility can affect communication and connection at home.
We help couples and families strengthen communication, work through relationship stress, rebuild connection, and better understand how stress, trauma, and demanding careers can affect the entire family.
Support is available for First Responder and healthcare families as well as couples and families from the broader community.
Couples and family therapy may address:
-
Communication difficulties
-
Relationship stress
-
Emotional disconnection
-
Conflict and resentment
-
Work-life and family balance
-
Stress related to shift work
-
Parenting and family transitions
-

Therapy for Children, Teens & Parents
Kids don't always have the words to explain what they're experiencing.
Our child and adolescent services provide developmentally appropriate support for children, teens, and parents navigating emotional, behavioral, family, and trauma-related concerns.
Using approaches including play-based interventions, trauma-informed care, and age-appropriate coping strategies, we help young people understand emotions, develop skills, strengthen relationships, and feel safer expressing what's happening beneath the behavior.
Support is available for First Responder families and families throughout the broader community.
Support may include:
-
Anxiety and emotional regulation
-
Behavioral concerns
-
Trauma and difficult experiences
-
Family changes and transitions
-
Parent-child relationships
-
Coping and resilience

EMDR Therapy & EMDR Intensives
Sometimes talking about what happened isn't enough to change how your brain and body continue responding to it.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based trauma therapy designed to help the brain process distressing experiences that continue to feel unresolved.
EMDR may be helpful for critical incidents, disturbing calls, traumatic loss, cumulative trauma, hypervigilance, intrusive memories, triggers, and experiences that continue affecting you long after they're over.
EMDR Intensives
EMDR Intensives provide extended treatment sessions for people who want focused trauma processing without waiting months for progress through traditional weekly appointments.
Intensives may be especially useful when there is a specific incident to process, several connected experiences, cumulative occupational trauma, or limited time available for weekly therapy.
EMDR Intensives are available in 1–3 day formats.
